The Simpsons 19×10 E Pluribus Wiggum

Vote Wiggum!

Ralph Wiggum

As the election season approaching, some television shows are starting to show election theme episodes. The Simpsons show is one of them. This time, Ralph Wiggum is competing in the election. He was selected by the Springfield people as a response to uninspiring candidates from the Republican Party and Democratic Party. Lisa was worried about Ralph as he became the pawn of all the fiasco. The media were trying to do coverage on the Simpsons as they were undecided. Meanwhile, Ralph was gaining popularity as most of the people of Springfield were supporting him. He ended up winning the primary candidacy. Realizing this, the Democrat and Republican Parties started to persuade him to join their parties as Wiggum had no clue which side he was on. Lisa tried to discourage Ralph but Ralph suddenly responded her advice in an inspiring manner that he wanted to stop war. Lisa was impressed and in the end, willing to be his first lady. Because f that too, both parties support Ralph and we saw a Elephant kissing an Donkey in the end. At the end of the episode, I feel like there will be a continuation to this episode as the story ended up abruptly. Knowing the Simpsons, maybe it was a pun to the Sopranos.

The Simpsons 19×09 Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind

Homer’s memory is playing trick on him.

This episode rocks! The story is an inspiration of the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Homer lost his memory at the beginning of the episode. The story mainly revolved around Homer’s attempt to get his memories back. With the help of Lisa from the past, Homer discovered that Marge has cheated on him. Homer felt so sad that he decided to commit suicide by jumping of the bridge. Actually, Marge’s sisters, Patty and Selma, pushed Homer off the bridge because Homer was having a second thought. During the fall, Homer slowly found out the truth that Marge did not cheat on him. In fact, she was preparing a surprise party for Homer’s community service. However, Homer felt bad that he spoilt Marge’s plan so he asked for Moe’s help to make him forget his memory. That was the reason Homer lost his memory at the beginning. In the end, Homer did not die from the fall because he landed onto his party boat. Almost everyone was there and enjoyed themselves. Then, as Homer gave Marge a kiss and the episode ended with the word “The End?”

I really like this episode because it has a lot of variety in it. For example, there is a mystery and suspense element in it. I feel really into it. I want to know what really happen to Homer and his family. There are a lot of unique scenes where Homer travels in his bubble throughout his memory space. There is also a YouTube like video that shows Homer’s life. The video is quite cool, artsy and very funny. This episode is definitely a must watch for this season.

The Simpsons 14×10 Pray Anything

December 11th, 2007 | Category: The Simpsons

So God does grant wishes…

 eabf06.jpg

This episode made fun of religion or God.  It criticized people who only pray to God to get the things they want.  When people were doing it too often, they became too dependant on God.  They became lazy and corrupted.  In the end, they turn back on God.  These were the things that Homer had done in this episode.  In return, God flooded the whole Springfield has a punishment.  Only until the town priest returned to Springfield and helped the people to repent that the tragedy ended.  I guess the lesson that we have to learn from this episode is that we should not hope for God’s graces so that things will go our ways. Oh yes, never mess with God. Hahaha.
