Mr Bean’s Holiday

Mr. Bean is back and still as dumb as ever!

i-am-awake.jpg

It has been 10 years since Bean: The Movie. I can’t believe it is that long. Apparently it is as long as the Spice Girls break up! Similar to the previous movie, Mr. Bean still can’t speak in complete sentences and oblivious towards his surroundings. His disabilities contribute to more problems for him as he gets himself lost in France. There are more “lost in translation moment” for Bean in his journey to his free trip to Cannes.

The thing that is missing in action is his Teddy. Even a tiny yellow Mini which looks like his own in Britain helps in his adventure. Ironically, throughout his journey, the only thing that he never loses is his free handy camcorder. Even his essential documents like passport and transportation ticket get lose easily.

There are few things that I like from the movie. We can learn a thing or two from Bean in terms of traveling survival. For instance, if you are running short on cash, feel free to do a street show performance! I have seen this situation at one of London subways. Besides that, I love his wonderful attempt of making random phone calls. There are also some scenes that remind me of his old television episodes.

In the end, I learn from the movie is that it is just the destination is important; the journey there is as well.

High School Musical 2

It’s Summertime!

high-schol-musical-2-poster.jpg

I wish my school days were like the ones in High School Musical. It would be awesome to sing all the way from my class to the school gate. Too bad that it is too good t be true. Who can choreograph on their own with others naturally? Not us, definitely. But, it is not true for the cast of High School Musical. Even the school band was prepared to play along with the students there.

This time, the kids need to find something better to do during the summer. Somehow, all of them who can sing ended up at Sharpay’s dad holiday resort. Most of the scenes are shot there. I think it is a nice change from the school environment. Why would you want to stay in school for the summer anyway?

There are a couple of nice songs in the show. I really like “Gotta Go My Own Way”, “I Don’t Dance”, “You Are the Music in Me” and “What Time Is It?” Even though “Gotta Go My Own Way” is a nice song, I feel that it is a bit off in the lyric and the movie. There is a lose connection with the story.

All and all, it is a nice show to watch for kids. Hopefully, kids will want to find themselves doing something useful during the summer by watching this show.

Futurama: Bender’s Big Score

Futurama is back but on DVD!

title.jpg

Yes, Futurama has a future after all! This time, the Emmy winning animated sitcom is returning to their fans with movie direct to DVD. I am so excited to watch for something new from the show. I have been watching reruns of it on Comedy Central every late night and I become bored of it. However, the movie is out and it has won my attention back!

I will not reveal a lot in this review since the movie is just released to the masses. My favorite thing about the movie is that, after all this time, the movie has successfully made connections and continuation with the previous TV episodes. An example of the continuation is Fry’s New Year Eve incident. There is actually more things happen than we originally thought. Why such things happen is because of the movie plot which revolves around time traveling.

Well the story starts from nude beach escapades, spam intrusions, business take over, headless body, time traveling, marriage, whale loving, to galactic space war.

I did not get bored watching the show and it gets more interesting by the minute. Besides that, the movie also touches on topic on “what if Fry did get frozen in the time capsule”.

I am impressed with the characters as they have not changed or replaced their voice actors and they sound the same as in the series. On top of that, a large number of recurring characters appeared on this movie such as the genius basketball players, Hypnotoad, Evil Santa, Nibbler, Fry’s family and more.

In short, if you are a Futurama fan, you should watch this show because you are going to be satisfied that Futurama is back and they still have their touch in the humor department.
